Salinas courthouse workers have settled their lawsuit alleging they were injured by asbestos during renovations court.
Plaintiffs' attorney Anne Kepner, said Thursday that the terms of the agreement are confidential, but the 190 plaintiffs to be compensated.
Monterey County Superior Court Judge Albert Maldonado, his former bailiff and a maintenance worker sued the two contractors in 2006, alleging she suffered respiratory problems caused by toxic exposure.
Other plaintiffs soon followed, in search of medical expenses and damages against Skanska USA Building and Nova Partners Inc.
Both companies pleaded no contest to misdemeanor charges that were dropped after he completed terms of probation.
Another company has taken on the project, expected to be completed in December. |
